Yesaya 59:19

59:19 In the west, people respect ¹  the Lord’s reputation; ² 

in the east they recognize his splendor. ³ 

For he comes like a rushing ⁴  stream

driven on by wind sent from the Lord. ⁵

8:11 I tell you, many will come from the east and west to share the banquet ⁶  with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ⁷  in the kingdom of heaven,

[8:11]  ⁶ tn Grk “and recline at table,” as 1st century middle eastern meals were not eaten while sitting at a table, but while reclining on one’s side on the floor with the head closest to the low table and the feet farthest away. The word “banquet” has been supplied to clarify for the modern reader the festive nature of the imagery. The banquet imagery is a way to describe the fellowship and celebration of being among the people of God at the end.
